How to Reach Andaman

The beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands are well connected to mainland India by both air and sea, making it convenient for travelers to visit this tropical island destination. The main entry point for visitors is Port Blair, which serves as the capital and transportation hub of the islands.

The fastest and most convenient way to reach Andaman is by air. Regular flights operate from major Indian cities such as Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru to Veer Savarkar International Airport. The flight journey usually takes around two to three hours depending on the departure city. Once you arrive in Port Blair, you can easily travel to other islands through local ferries or cruises.

Another option to reach Andaman is by passenger ships operated from mainland ports such as Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam. However, ship journeys generally take three to four days and operate on limited schedules.

Most travelers prefer flights due to convenience and shorter travel time. Once in Port Blair, visitors can continue their journey to famous islands like Havelock Island and Neil Island through ferry or cruise services.
